Cane Corso character: What they don't tell you on breed profiles

The Cane Corso is the dog with the highest number of searches across all internet search engines.

Only those in love with molossers and those looking for a guard dog, imposing and with presence, knew the breed existed. Few more.

But today, in 2026, it's the dog of fashion.

The Cane Corso is the Dog of Fashion.

The dog everyone wants. You see it on Reels, with people from TV, from showbusiness, from sport,…

No fashion in the canine world ever brought anything good. But that's a can of worms we'll open another day.

Or not. Let me open it now. Now that you're reading me.

That a dog becomes fashion is the biggest ruin a breed can suffer.

Legions of backyard breeders eager to take advantage of the momentum will do whatever they can to grab the biggest slice in the shortest time. Without caring about the consequences. Without caring if their "merchandise" is affected. Damned opportunist bastards.

They don't understand the dog for what it is. They're simply pirates without scruples.

They sell the working ability, the functionality and the health of a breed for a few, or many, handfuls of euros. It all comes down to that.

And that has a high cost for a breed.

How to Choose the Best Cane Corso Breeder.

Once again you have to get away from the noise.

Don't let them use your excitement to get you into bed easily. That's what these people do. I already told you there are plenty of pirates.

But I get it if you feel lost, or if you might feel lost.

The same happens to me at the mechanic. If they tell me they've changed the head gasket or the valve cover I believe it for the same reason. And that reason is nothing more than not having a fucking clue. Maybe they don't either, but the difference is that they do know that you know nothing.

So do the same thing you do when you don't know about something. Find someone you trust. Someone you really trust and who is connected to the world of dogs.

Otherwise, you'll be shooting in the dark.

And the worst isn't that they sell you a boxer with the promise that at 20 years old is when it starts to have its growth spurt. The worst is that they play with the health of dogs, both physically and in terms of temperament.

There's one thing that's clear, the pirate wants the chest with the gold coins. And all at zero cost. And that's how much you and your future dog matter to him, ZERO.

If you don't have anyone you trust, talk to me. I'm juggling a thousand things, but 5 minutes to give you some advice I do have.

But today I want you to know the breed more deeply. The real breed.

No ambiguity, no cheap script written in ChatGPT.

Cane Corso Character: What They Don't Tell You on the Reels or in the Fucking AI Videos.

The majority of those who approach the breed do so because of what they see. Because of its appearance.

And it is that it's a rounded, imposing dog. With a very marked character.

With a natural disposition to guard. But watch out, if you have real security problems, maybe you should think about getting yourself a Glock 45.

The dog will become your best friend and will stand up for you, but he's not a Navy Seal bodyguard.

A Cane Corso could be owned by the toughest guy, the biggest hard-nut in the neighbourhood, and by the sweetest grandma in the world.

Wary and serious with strangers, loyal and affectionate with his own.

That's the Cane Corso.

Even if the perception of him is quite different.

He's not a unique dog even if you hear it from some influ-breeder. He's a dog. Being a dog already makes him special.

Listen up.

They don't complain. They always come to meet you wagging their tail even if you've forgotten to give them dinner. They look for you when you're at your worst. They give you everything asking practically nothing in return. If you shout at them, they forget. If you have a bad gesture because you're having a bad day, they won't only not hold it against you, but they'll ask what's wrong with you. In their own way. But they'll do it. I could keep writing lines and more lines. But keeping these few things in mind, close your eyes and try to attribute them to someone you know…tic, tac, tic, tac. Oh, and it doesn't count if it's another dog.

So there you go. Dogs are special and the Cane Corso, too.

The Wrongly Named PPP Law and How It Affects the Cane Corso.

Between absurd laws and the stigma of a society each day poorer in spirit, that points a finger at you if you have a molosser or a prey dog, the Cane Corso has bad press and it's for two fundamental reasons.

Prejudices and lack of canine culture.

Prejudices are the children of ignorance.

When a bunch of these ignorant people who know nothing about dogs got together to draft the most absurd law in the world, they did what was expected. An authentic grotesque piece of legislation that made an absolute mess of the canine world.
But what could you expect from such half-brained bootlickers with just enough knowledge not to shit themselves.

Only swallowing was left for us. Saliva and things that aren't saliva.

The Cane Corso is a family dog. More loyal and faithful than the "best" of your friends. The ones who only call you if it's to go out or ask you for something.

A dog is a dog. And that makes it better. Just for that.

The Real Dangers of the Cane Corso (spoiler: they're not the ones you think)

The real danger of the Cane Corso isn't that he goes around biting left and right on the street or in your house.

No way.

Nothing of that.

He's not going to bite that postman from the movies with the cap and the leather satchel. Nor the kid on the bike delivering newspapers. In my life I've never seen one live. I'd have to live in the USA just so an 8-year-old redhead kid could smack a newspaper he wouldn't even be able to read against the living-room window of my house. House with a garden. And no fence. House with a garden and no fence.

The danger isn't either that you can't take him out except at night for fear he'll eat the rest of the neighbours. He's not a Dragon even if someone tells you he is. As the saying goes, if it doesn't fly and doesn't breathe fire, it's a Cane Corso.

The real danger is the stigmatisation and the absurd laws that force a load of stupidities with no sense at all.

Depending on where you live they'll require a muzzle, a leash of a certain length, etc.
You may not even know the rules of your area, but they can chase you all the same.

The insurance I'll grant. It makes sense. For any creature that lives among people, it makes sense.

So your dog isn't dangerous. Not until a group of imbeciles who don't even know how to buckle a collar decide he is. Then, yes, you'll have a fire-breathing child-eater. At least on paper.

A dog is a dog. And that makes it better. Just for that.

If you want to know more about the Cane Corso, this is for you.

And if you're interested in equipping your dog as he deserves, I equip mine with this:

Is the Cane Corso the Best Choice for Me?

If you're looking for a Cane Corso as your best friend, or if you already have one, let me tell you something.

Run from those who advertise themselves with loud songs and dogs baring their teeth when in reality all they want is to be let go and left alone. Left to be dogs.

Run from those who chase the brightest lights and from those who try to sweet-talk you with a philosophy so cheap they can barely hold back their own laughter.

Run from that circus.

Think about why you want to have a Cane Corso, or why you have him.

Think about that. Calmly. Deeply.

You're going to share his whole life with HIM or HER. And this isn't cheap philosophy, it's truth.

Tell yourself the truth. Tell yourself why you want to have a Cane Corso.

And when the words don't come out because of the desire, then it will be the moment.
